North Charleston Police arrest two in Narcotics bust

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The North Charleston Police Department has arrested two suspects following a drug buy-bust operation.

Alvin A. Grant, of North Charleston, told a confidential informant that he looking to purchase one kilogram of cocaine.

On July 22, 2009, Grant and the confidential informant agreed to meet at location on Northwoods Blvd to conduct the transaction. Grant was driven to the meeting location by Jermaine Aiken, where they met the confidential informant to conduct the transaction. Grant showed the confidential informant a large amount of cash, at which time Grant and Aiken were arrested.

Both Grant and Aiken were charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine within ½ Mile Proximity of a School.

Both are expected to appear before a bond judge later today.
